Arete Jiu Jitsu Collective is a Jiu-Jitsu academy focused on technical excellence, personal growth, and building a community where anyone can learn, improve, and challenge themselves.
Serious training without ego. Strength with restraint. A collective, not a crowd.
An ancient Greek word meaning excellence — not just in skill, but in character, effort, and the pursuit of one's highest potential. It is the idea our academy is built on, and the standard we train toward on the mats and off them.
Constant improvement through deliberate practice and attention to detail.
Showing up, embracing challenges, and committing to the process.
An environment where students support each other's growth.
Remaining open to learning regardless of experience or rank.
Solving problems both on and off the mats.
We teach you to understand concepts, not memorize techniques. The goal is not knowing more moves. It is becoming a better problem solver — under pressure, with a thinking partner across from you.
For beginners and experienced practitioners alike — self-defense, competition, and fitness. A structured curriculum that meets you where you are and asks for honest effort.
Kids' classes are coming. Interested in youth Jiu-Jitsu? Join the waiting list and we'll reach out first.

Before coaching full-time, he spent 10 years as a Quality Engineer at BAE Systems. That systems-based, analytical thinking shapes AJC's philosophy: developing adaptable martial artists through intentional practice and a focus on understanding — not just memorizing.
